Dr.Sumanth Raman started his Television career as a Sports Commentator and anchor over two decades ago. Starting with local sports coverages Dr.Raman then moved on to National and International events which he anchored for Doordarshan for several years.

Dr.Raman has been a commentator and anchor for the Champions Trophy Hockey Tournament on two occasions, the Chennai Open ATP Tennis Tournament, the World Squash Championships, the World Billiards Championships,  the I-League Football Tournament, the Formula Asia Motor Racing Championships, the Ranji,Duleep and Irani Trophy Cricket Tournaments, Women's International Cricket,National Championships in several sports, etc. 

Dr. Raman was among the lead anchors for major International events like the Olympic Games, Asian Games,Commonwealth Games and National events like the National Games. Dr.Raman was part of the Tamil commentary team of ESPN for the Cricket World Cup held in South Africa in 2007.Over the last 2 decades Dr.Raman has anchored or been the commentator for over 2000 Sports Programs and events and has built a reputation as one of the respected Sports Commentators in India.
