Dr.Sumanth Raman started working on Election shows for Television in 1998 when he anchored his first series of elections shows for Asianet Television for the General Elections in 1998. Since then he has been associated with anchoring election programs for the 1999,2004,2009,2014 Parliamentary Elections as well as the 2001,2006,2011 and 2016 Assembly elections for the State of Tamil Nadu. 

Dr.Raman has been extensively involved with Election forecasting, interpreting opinion poll data and has often featured on channels like Times Now, Republic TV, News X, CNN News 18 and India Today on election related programs. His forecast of the 2016 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections was featured on the front page of the Deccan Chronicle and was on target much against the consensus of Opinion Polls. Among Tamil channels he has worked extensively on election related programs for two leading channels, Puthia Thalaimurai and Thanthi TV.   

Dr.Raman is a keen follower of elections wherever they are held and is involved in analysis of trends and data across many states in india.  

In December 2017 Dr.Raman was part of the Republicv TV team that analyzed the Exit Polls for the Elections to the State Assemblies of Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh. He was also part of the team that analyzed the election trends and results on counting day.
